Poor Pup’s Punctured Paw

Oscar has stitches in his paw. : (

On Monday last week, he frolicked in the backyard, chasing balls. When we came in, so did bloody foot prints. He sliced his paw open on something outside (still unsure as to what), so off to the vet we went.

First, they superglued him shut, which I expected. However, when the wound started bleeding again on Friday, the vet made the call to use sutures. I didn’t take pictures because just the idea of stitches in the bottom of a foot makes all the muscles in my back tense up. Ugh.

So now, we have to keep a cattle dog quiet, coned, and on meds. Look at him sporting that Elizabethan collar. Such a good pup.

We get new bandages today and the sutures come off in two weeks. So, sorry Uncle J., Oscar can’t play tug. Which, I realize, is not a problem considering the 500+ miles between us. :)

He will, however, gladly take lots of sympathy because, honestly, look at that sad mug.
